DIY Lemon Toner Lighten Scars And Brighten Your Skin

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with this amazing, all-natural lemon toner. It brightens and lightens skin, and it’s also great for acne-prone skin.

The reason I decided to whip up this toner is that I suddenly notice that I was developing some sunspots on my face. They were all on the left side of my face, so I think the damage came from the sun shining on that side of my face when I’m driving.

lemon is a great lightening agent, and it’s better than many high-end lightening products. when you whip up this toner, it will give you brighter, lighter skin, and it will also prevent breakouts and tighten your pores.

Here’s the thing about packaged vitamin c

Vitamin C that is packaged in over the counter products doesn’t always work. While vitamin C is wonderful for your skin, it goes bad quickly.

This means that most products contain preservatives that help to keep the vitamin C from going bad.

When you use fresh lemon juice, you have a natural Vitamin C source that gives you the vitamin C benefits you want, including brightening, tightening, and lightening, without dealing with those preservatives.

It offers better results, and it will cost a lot less than an over the counter skincare product that contains vitamin C in it. In fact, you can get all the ingredients for this toner for just a few dollars.

Benefits of the ingredients

Lemons

Lemons are a great source of vitamin C, which is an ingredient that helps to lighten skin, eliminating sun spots. It also helps to even out your skin tone, giving you the even skin tone that you want.

Lemon juice is also a natural astringent that brightens skin and tightens your pores.

Witch Hazel

The witch hazel is also a natural astringent which tightens the skin and it’s very high in tannins (a class of astringent molecules) that can help to reduce swelling,  and fight bacteria.

You’ll Need:

  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed fresh Lemon juice
  • 1 cup of purified water (bottled or filtered)
  • 1/4 cup of witch hazel (or rosewater for skin lightening) If you don’t have rosewater, you can check (my DIY recipe here).
  • a glass jar

Directions:

  1. Place all the ingredients in a glass jar container with airtight lid.
  2. Refrigerate and use it for up to 2 weeks. I normally, put some of the mixture in a spray bottle and store in the fridge.
  3. For application, use a cotton circle or just a cotton and spray the mixture on it. Apply it on your freshly washed face. No rinse needed.
  4. Make sure you store your lemon toner in an airtight bottle. Keep it stored in a dry, cool place (better store in the fridge). Never keep this toner for more than two weeks.
  5. Use this toner after your daily routine for best results. Consistency is the key, and make sure to protect your skin by applying sunblock when going outdoors.
